Founded in 2009, South Bay Filmmakers (SBFM) is a professional networking and support organization for filmmakers based in Los Angeles’ South Bay. It is intended for those interested in growing their career, finding collaborators, and sharing resources in the entertainment industry.
Our members are passionate creatives with a roster of success in their respective fields.
They represent writers, directors, producers, editors, colorists, visual effects artists, cinematographers, camera operators, composers, sound editors, stunts, wardrobe, makeup, actors, and many more.
Members are encouraged to actively participate and contribute to the group with the intent to advance the goals of their colleagues as well as their own ambitions.
Networking is an integral part of this group and a skill which is cultivated at each meeting. How to communicate your needs and what you can contribute to other projects is a requirement of membership.
Meetings are conducted under a set of principles which its members are asked to abide by such as equality, discretion, positivity, and more.
Our leadership team represents a variety of crafts and industry experience. They’ve chosen to “give back” and build a tight-knit community of filmmakers in the South Bay.
